«What is piercing?»
Piercing is the technique of piercing the skin for the purpose of placing jewelry. We usually choose jewelry made of surgical steel or titanium.
«Are ear holes safe?»
Ear holes are very safe and all parts of the earlobe and cartilage are very safe. They heal very easily and quickly.
«What does someone under 18 need to get a piercing?»
If the client seems young or we have any doubts, we ask for identification. If he/she is not an adult, he/she needs a notarized paper from a CDC or police station that says "I allow my son/daughter to tattoo on this particular part of the body”.
«Does my piercer have to use sterile gloves?»
It is imperative that the piercer wears gloves and changes them after each client for hygienic safety.
«What should I do with my belly button piercing if I get pregnant?»
In case of pregnancy, it is advisable to remove the belly button earring by the 7th month at the latest to avoid problems during childbirth.
«After how long can I change the original earring?»
Usually the original earring should be kept on, at a minimum, for 1.5-2 months.
«Why is the length/size of the initial piercing earring important?»
The first earring placed in the piercing should be of a longer length and relatively lightweight, so as not to impede healing and to avoid any inflammation. After 1.5-2 months, the client can put on whatever earring they want.
«Can I easily get an infection?»
The first time a piercing is very sensitive and it is very easy to get infected if not properly treated. It is important that clients listen to and follow the piercer's instructions and advice to avoid any complications.
«If I'm sick, can that affect my piercing?»
When someone is sick, their immune system is compromised and cannot heal as quickly and properly as the piercing. It is best to do it while in good physical condition.
«Why was my piercing moved or rejected by my body?»
Two complications of piercing are "migration" (the piercing moves from its original site and heals in the new site that has been moved) and "rejection" (the piercing is completely eliminated from the skin). Migration is usually due to the piercing, which may be too large or too heavy for the piercing and this results in it being moved by weight. Rejection is either due to either the wrong jewellery being placed (e.g. straight bar instead of a 'banana' in a belly button), or because it has not been pierced to the correct depth and the earring is too close to the surface of the skin, causing it to come out.
«Does the piercing leave a mark if I take it off?»
It usually leaves a small mark, but how noticeable the mark will be depends on the piercing site and how long the client kept the piercing on with an earring.
«What material are the earrings made of? Can I get an infection?»
The earrings we use are made of titanium or surgical steel, which do not cause infections.
«Does nipple piercing affect breastfeeding?»
The nipple piercing should be removed during breastfeeding to avoid an accident and ingestion by the infant. Also, when we know there is a pregnancy and we already have a nipple piercing, it is advisable to have it removed at least 2-3 months before breastfeeding so that the hole has healed and does not carry any inflammation that will potentially harm the infant.
«Is it safe to pierce during pregnancy?»
During pregnancy it is advisable not to get pierced, due to the fact that a woman's immune system is disturbed during this period and we don't know if the body will be able to withstand the piercing. About 3 months after childbirth, a woman is now able to pierce her body.
«What does someone under 18 need to get a piercing?»
If you are a minor, you need a notarized piece of paper from a CDC or police station that says "I allow my son/daughter to get a tattoo on this particular body part."
«Do I have to remove my earring during an x-ray examination?»
During such an examination, earrings should definitely be removed due to the fact that there is magnetic energy in the room and can cause damage or injury.
«Are microdermals safe? Are piercers allowed to do them?»
When microdermals are done by an experienced piercer, there is no need to worry about risk, just that compared to a more straightforward piercing it usually takes longer to heal.
«Are genital piercings dangerous?»
Genital piercing is not dangerous, but it usually hurts a little more than other piercings, but it has the positive side that it heals faster than any other piercing because of the normal flora that exists in those areas. When someone pierces a spot like this they should not have sexual intercourse for at least 2 weeks.
«Do you use a blow dryer for piercings?»
No, not under any circumstances. Pistols are not sterile and do not pierce the skin properly resulting in infections and deformities.
«Do you sterilize the needles?»
Needles are disposable, then dicarded. Forceps are sterilized after each use in a dry cleaner.
«Once I get the piercing, can I go to the beach?»
To avoid any infections, we recommend staying away from the sea for a week at the very least.
«Can I bring my own earring?»
No, because it may be made of a material that will cause a reaction (e.g. infection, or inflammation, or irritation). In any case, we place the jewelry we have in the store.
«How many piercings can I get in a day?»
We recommend up to 2-3 piercings a day, to allow the body to accept them smoothly, to heal properly, and also to avoid a lot of bleeding and cause dizziness.
«Can I put on some discreet jewelry or hide the piercing e.g. because of my work?»
Of course, there are various discrete piercings and depending on the spot it can be completely hidden (e.g. septum).
